The unyielding advance of Saturn's Forges

Painting at the epic scale of Legions Imperialis requires a shift in focus: the goal is to make these 8mm miniatures feel just as dense and industrial as their full-sized counterparts. For this detachment, the core of the force is built around a heavy vanguard of Saturnine-pattern Terminators and Dreadnoughts painted in the colors of the Fourth Legion. On the Legions Imperialis battlefield, Saturnine Terminators serve a very specific purpose. Their massive, rounded armor suits are designed for grueling, close-quarters breakthrough operations and endurin…

The will of the Omnisiah

One of the drawbacks of trying to use a Warlord Titan in Legions Imperialis is that the available formations where you can field it are very limited. If you intend to play it as a Titan Legions force you are constrained to a single maniple where the Warlord can shine. And that maniple forces you to include at least a single Reaver Titan, one of my least favourite titan models. Luckily, someone online has solved my issue, creating a 3D reimagining of the Reaver in the classic Lucius Pattern style used for Epic 40k Warlord Titans. This design is more boxy…

Might of the Iron Circle

This month we just had the most awesome Legions Imperialis event here in Barcelona at the club Torre de Daus, and I decided to join the fray with my Iron Warriors. For this event I wanted to bring a list that was representative of the army so I had to spruce up my army a little bit. I had recently 3D printed some Iron Circle domitar that I pretended to use as Leviathans on our game. I also repainted Perturabo a bit as I wasn't 100% sattisfied with his stripes. I also had to paint a Mastodon to transport my Iron Circle Leviathans in style to the fron…

Lord of the Battlefield

When I first saw Legions Imperialis presented by GW I was instantly into the game, as Epic 40k was the game I could never afford as a teenager. When I decided to invest into the game, one of the things I knew I definitely wanted in my army was a titan. But not just any titan, I wanted that beautiful Lucius pattern titan that for so many years was looking at me from the storefront, out of reach. Games Workshop no longer produces this model, as it was phased out in favor of the more round, more knightly, Mars pattern titans. So I had to get mine from an S…

You've been found... wanting.

My work on my legions imperialis armies continues and though I've been sprinkling some Infinity and Warhammer miniatures here and there, most of my painting these last months have been devoted to the 8mm goodness of Legions. Starting with my Questoris Knights, I have yet to use them on the battlefield but I looooooove this models. It's strange because I'm not usually a fan of Mars pattern designs for titans as I much prefer the older boxy Lucius patterns, but for some reason the round forms in this titans look very appealing. I didn't wa…
