Scouting for the Kin

This christmas one of my presents was a Votann Yaegir kill team. I had been dabbling in kill team the last year as I was interested on their solo and coop rules. Got me a box of the most recent Kill Team edition and got to play some small games. While it is in no way my favourite game, the miniatures are always really nice and the Votann in particular could proof useful for me in the future if I decide to dabble more into 40k. Deep in the mines

This is a small team of squats from Necromunda that I plan to use as dwarf miners for OPR Grimdark Future. I maintained the idea of painting all this army using the slapchop technique, but for the miners I decided to switch up the colors a bit to make them more distinguishable from the rest of my Votann army, using red as the main color and reducing the ceramic khaqui to just the helmet and some stripes.  Some of the miners got upgraded a bit with picks from the Votann sprue, to help to easily tell them apart from the standard Votann troops. Diggy Hole

Last year I joined a wargaming club near my workplace. It was a pretty nice place but most of the players there were 40k players and I was a complete ignorant in anything 40k related. Come christmas, the holiday boxes from GW allowed me to get a substantial Votann force to start playing some games on the club and I decided I was going to speedpaint my way through it with my recently acquired Speed Paints 2.0 set.
