This summer I had the opportunity to check one of the items from my to-do list. Make a trip to Nottingham and visit Warhammer World. Among the many things I found there I got to treat myself to a discontinued Warhammer Underworlds Warband made of clan pestilens Skaven.
Warhammer Underworlds warbands are always a treat to paint because while they share a theme, each model is an individual model with it's own style and charisma. For this warband I tried to use Speed Paints as I did for my Skaventide skaven, and try to get them to shine up using the glow from the warp stone and fumes from the censers.
I also had some time to paint the globadiers, probably my favourite skaven unit when it comes to looks, and one that GW took almost 20 years to resculpt again. I still own and I'm very fond of my metal globadiers, being one of the few oldhammer miniatures that I've repainted during this years, and recently I've also got to play them a lot thanks to the OPR ruleset.
Having said that, being metal they were a hassle to carry around to games, so the new plastic ones really hit the spot for me. I tried to make them look as close as possible in color to my oldhammer globadiers, so I could combine them both for a larger unit If I ever want to.
