Engines of War

Lately I've been working on my WarRig for Warcrow. It was the last remaining unit for my Hegemony of Embersig army and it was quite a daunting proposition as it was quite a big and complex model.

The model is spectacular in its construction as both the internal pilots are sculpted in amazing detail. It's a bit of a shame that the cockpit plate completely blocked the view of the pilots, so I decided to convert mine a bit. I added some magnets on the front of the cockpit that allowed the front plate to be removed, but also, made it so that when assembled, the plate would not block the view to the pilots.

As I had done all my Hegemony in Non Metallic Metals, I wanted to do it here aswell, and went all in with the chromed plating and golden trim motives. I didn't want the internal mechanisms to be grey so I opted for a reddish metal instead so to give a little bit of contrast with the bluish reflective armor and the gold trim.

In the end I was pretty satisfied with the result. The reflection of the surroundings was not as intense as in some of my other Hegemony miniatures, but still I think it looks great on the table and very cohesive with the rest of the force.
