Dangers of the Cursed City
At the beginning of 2024 I got my hands on a Warhammer Quest cursed city set. I do not like zombies at all, but the skeleton and vampire models on the set really called to me. This was my first foray into speed paints, even earlier than my Votann models, and was done using the original 1.0 Speed Paints. They were fun but very difficult to work with, so I'm all the more satisfied with the result on this skellies.
The vampires were also test models, as I wanted to achieve an undead style flesh tone before I painted my Crimson Court vampires from Warhammer Underworlds. This look pretty nice and manage to get the feel I was going for. I decided for blue tones on the bases, as they contrasted a lot with the bright reds on the vampires and the skeleton's cloak.
While painting my skellies I noticed I still had a thaumaturge ogre from Tzeentch lying around from the original Warhammer Quest. It was half painted, so I decided to invest some time in giving it the finishing touches, adding some glow to his magical tatoos and detail to its staff and metal pieces.
